Maintaining a healthy fitness level is part of living a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes, however, there can be so much conflicting information available, that it’s hard to know what to do. You may want to give up, but do not do it. If you follow these tips, you can stay healthy and live a good lifestyle.

When working out, make sure you take your time and focus on doing any and all exercises properly. Even if you can’t do as many or goes as long as you could if you were using short cuts, you’ll get much better results by doing fewer perfect form exercises. When looking for another way to improve fitness sometimes one needs to look no further than their pet dog. By taking the dog on walks around the neighborhood or specific trails an individual can increase the amount of exercise they and their pet get. Apart from all the extra exercise and the benefits from that one will strengthen the bond between owner and their pet.

A great tip to get fit is to stay active when you get home from work. A lot of people come home from work feeling tired, and make excuses to be lazy. You don’t want to fall into that trap. Go for a walk or meet up with some friends.

Choose the right shoes for your fitness program. The right shoe can make a difference in how far you run and how stable you are when you’re lifting weights. Make sure you look for shoes later in the day when the food has widened. Make sure there is ample room to move your toes around and that there is a half-inch additional space for your big toe.

When working out, it is important to keep in mind that shorter workouts are better than lengthier ones. Increase your workout slowly over time and remember that quality training is better than longer training sessions. This will prevent muscle strain and instead will build your muscle strength in a safe and healthy way.

If you are a runner and would like to build endurance and speed, train like Kenyan runners. The first third of your run go slowly. The middle third start running at your normal pace. At the end run faster than normal. Each week slowly increase your starting pace, and this will help to increase your normal and fast pace, too.

If you are about to start a new fitness regime and have not exercised before or in a long time, or have a medical condition of some sort that might be exacerbated by exercise, it is a good idea to see your doctor before you begin a program. Getting a medical check up will help ensure that you choose the most beneficial exercise program for yourself.

Test your bench before starting your workout. Take a thumb and press it into the bench padding to gauge its firmness. If you can feel the metal or wood underneath the bench, then you should try and find another seat.

Increase the speed and length of your stride if you want to improve your sprint. When doing this, you should see to it that your foot lands under you as opposed to in front of you. Push off with the toes in your rear leg to move yourself forward. With a little practice and patience, your running speed will begin to increase.

You should stop using a weight belt when performing most lifting exercises. Over time, a weight belt will weaken your abs and lower-back muscles. The only times that you should wear a weight belt is when you perform large lifts, such as squats, deadlifts and overhead presses.

A great fitness tip is to make sure you perform dead-lifts with correct form. To correctly perform dead-lifts you’ll want to keep the bar as close to your body as you can. If you incorrectly perform dead-lifts you can end up with a serious injury which can include a hernia.

A quick trick to make sure your head is in the properly aligned position when doing sit-ups is to place your tongue against the roof of your mouth during the exercise. If your head is not aligned you could easily strain your neck muscles. This little technique will help you curb the possibility.

It’s always better to start with small steps to your ultimate fitness goal. Simple things like taking advantage of all opportunities to walk. Always walk to the blue box when you need to mail a letter. There will likely be one close enough to you that you can make the trek easily.

Make sure that if you are feeling any sort of pain before your workout, to error on the side of caution. It is much better that you rest on days that you are not at the top of your game, to reduce the chance of hurting yourself. Exercise caution before working out when you feel pain.

Before a workout, it is just important to prepare yourself mentally as it is physically. By relaxing your body and preparing for your workout, your central nervous system is telling your muscles when they should contract. Even when you are fatigued during workout, tell yourself that you can finish your routine.

Fitness can be addictive and necessary in your every day life once you can clearly identify the ways it is making you feel healthier, and an overall more energetic person. Exercising every day just adds to your fitness plan and to your lifestyle. Working out every day can become a part of your every day routine.

Fitness can be a difficult subject to fully grasp because there is so much information available and much of it is quite contradicting. When you dig through the pile of opinions, you’ll find a few items that hold true time after time. Some are things you should incorporate into your program, and some are things to be avoided at all costs. If you use the information in this article, eventually the result will be a fitter, happier and healthier you.

Facility Programmed and Designed to Enhance Patient Outcomes

The Minot Medical Plaza has been designed as a multi-purpose ambulatory center that will foster an efficient and collaborative care model to increase staff, physician and patient satisfaction. The building space program includes primary care and specialty clinics (including orthopedics, gastroenterology and ophthalmology), physical/occupational therapy, diagnostic laboratory, diagnostic imaging (X-ray, mammography, MRI, CT), an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and related support spaces.

The project design will foster cooperation among providers, which is intended to promote positive patient outcomes and increase operational efficiencies. The design supports an operational model that SAMC adopted after undertaking LEAN planning exercises in an effort to eliminate waste and improve clinical performance. For example, the larger floor plates of the facility will enable the primary care and full-time specialty physicians to practice on the same floor, reducing the number of employees to an optimal level, while the open plan of each care module will foster collaboration among staff and providers.

The front entry of the facility will feature an atrium area with central check-in. Primary care and specialty clinics will be the predominant uses on the first floor, with ambulatory surgery, imaging and lab services housed on the second floor.

The building design also incorporates features that will enable SAMC to roll out initiatives such as its EPIC electronic health records system, patient tracking capability within the facility, self-rooming and shortened wait times.

Great Travel Advice To Simplify


Are you planning a trip to an exotic destination? Taking a business trip? Visiting friends or family? Then make sure you’re prepared by reading the rest of this article. In this article, we’ll be going over everything you need to have a safe, successful trip, no matter why you’re taking it.

Take an extra debit card with you while traveling. Things sometimes get lost on long trips. If you can, keep an extra debit card handy. Having too much cash on hand is often a bad idea. An extra debit card is much less risky and far easier to keep track of.

If you’re worried about having your pockets picked while you’re on vacation, try sewing a small hidden pocket into the inside of your pants to keep your money and credit cards in. This way you won’t have to worry about them being swiped by an eager pickpocket. You can also do the same thing inside of a bag, if you’ll be carrying one.

Before departing on a trip, the wise traveler makes sure at least one person back home knows where he will be. This “home base” contact should also be updated with any unplanned changes the traveler encounters on the way. Someone who knows where a traveler is – and where they should be – can be a great help in the case of trouble on the road.

When traveling, never take an item from someone to transport it for them. No matter their situation or how nice they may seem, this is almost always a trap to convince an unwary tourist to transport drugs or other contraband into secure areas. Even “gifts” can fall into this category.

Be flexible. If your travel dates can be tweaked by a day or two, try using the “flexible dates” feature of most online travel search engines. This allows you to search departure and return dates within a given range. By just changing your dates by a day or two, you may be able to score huge savings on airfare.

When staying at a hotel that offers a digital alarm clock, check both the time and the alarm when you first arrive. It is a common prank to pre-set the alarm to extremely early times, or to fiddle with the time displayed on the clock. Late at night when you go to bed, you may not realize your clock is 30 minutes fast or slow.

When eating at a restaurant where you are still unsure of the culture, pay attention to the habits of the other diners. Not only will copying them help you decide what to order, it could even prevent you from committing an embarrassing faux pas in front of the other diners.

Planning your travel in advance is always good advice to follow. Make sure to plan your trip at least a month or a few weeks in advance to ensure you have enough time to make changes. Planning ahead leaves more room for error and gives you more time to get the best deals on travel packages.

When deciding what to wear on your feet when you go on a plane ride, keep in mind that you will be most comfortable in shoes that slip off easily. Crocs or flip flops are best because they can be taken off or put on in an instant.

If you are traveling by airplane, be sure to bring along your own headphones. Most in-flight entertainment systems today require that you wear headphones. You may be able to buy them in-flight, but it will be at a greatly inflated cost. Headphones are also a great way to create ‘white noise’ to block out your neighbors and/or the plane noise.

Before you leave home, make multiple copies of your travel documents. Store these in separate bags. It may also be a good idea to scan them onto a flash drive, and carry it with you. Emailing them to yourself can be another method. Make sure you have several backups. You do not want to get stuck in a foreign country!

Read the fine print on all travel purchases you make. This ensures you will always get treated fairly. For example, sometimes airlines try to tell you they can not change your flight, but their contract often states that they can. Companies try to hide this information from you because they want more of your money. Be a prepared consumer so that businesses will not be able to take advantage of you.

To save money when booking flights, see if you can fly to or from an alternate airport. Airlines often charge much less for different routes, so check out all your options to see which one is the cheapest. Even if you have to rent a car, it could still be cheaper to fly into a different airport.

Carry an over-the-door shoe organizer with you when you are traveling. Staying organized in a hotel room is very difficult. A shoe organizer is extremely helpful because you can put your toothpaste, toothbrush, hair brush, aspirin and other items in it. If you have a clear organizer, you will be able to see where everything is at a glance.

A useful item to pack for your flight, inside your carry-on bag, is a fleece blanket with sleeves. It can keep you warm on a cool plane, while still allowing you to hold your book or magazine. It can also be rolled up and used as a travel pillow.

To get the most enjoyment out of travel, relax. Travel can be stressful no matter how you go – car, plane, train or bus. Inevitably, something will go wrong even when you are highly prepared. Do not stress about it. Relax and enjoy whatever might come your way. The best experiences often result from the unexpected. Just think of the stories you can tell later!

Matrox Maevex PowerStream software gives administrators an intuitive user interface to remotely discover and manage their entire network of Maevex encoders and decoders and fine-tune individual device parameters. Indiana Limestone Co. hosted a gathering of key customers at its inaugural ?Rock ?n? Quarry? celebration last month, an event that brought visitors to the company?s Oolitic, Ind. headquarters and included a tour of active quarrying and milling operations at ILCO?s multiple historic Lawrence County locations.

?We were pleased to host some 150 customers ? fabricators, distributors, masons and architects – and our team,? said Tom Quigley, Indiana Limestone?s chief executive officer. ?This was a great opportunity to showcase our newly designed manufacturing facilities, our quarries, and the inventory that we?re building to support our customers? needs. As a business, we already are seeing evidence of a solid market recovery given our strong backlog and bookings for customers all across North America. It’s a great time to be in the limestone business.?

ILCO officials said the event gave visitors a rare opportunity to experience current high-volume operations from the company that produced facing stone for such landmark structures as the Empire State Building, the Pentagon, Washington?s National Cathedral, and newly designed and created 15 Central Park West.

Said Tony Parenza, ILCO?s western territory manager: ?Our team put a lot of hard work into getting this event arranged in just 30 days. The feedback from our attendees was phenomenal.?

Visitors from dozens of U.S. and Canadian firms attended, some arriving from as far away as New Jersey, Vancouver and Toronto. They enjoyed a barbecue at ILCO corporate headquarters, received a quick course in industrial safety, then headed for the quarry, which lies at the heart of one of the world?s richest limestone deposits. The company?s holdings, covering 4,000 acres of prime quarrying land, are believed to hold more than 100 years of limestone reserves. The guests also saw one of the largest limestone production plants in the U.S., which provides finished and raw Indiana limestone to a nationwide fabricator network.

?This program was very well received,? said Craig Alwine, eastern territory manager for ILCO. ?Our guests were excited to see all the quarry activity and a shop that was running at full speed. NexCore Group LLC, a nationally ranked healthcare real estate developer, has broken ground on a 67,000 square ambulatory care center for St. Alexius Medical Center (SAMC) in Minot, a North Dakota hub city near the booming Bakken Oil Formation that is experiencing extraordinary population growth. SAMC has a strong reputation in Minot and currently provides the market with outpatient services in a converted one-story office building. During its six years of operation, the SAMC clinic has experienced consistent growth in patient visits. The new Medical Plaza will replace the existing clinic.

Facility Programmed and Designed to Enhance Patient Outcomes

The Minot Medical Plaza has been designed as a multi-purpose ambulatory center that will foster an efficient and collaborative care model to increase staff, physician and patient satisfaction. The building space program includes primary care and specialty clinics (including orthopedics, gastroenterology and ophthalmology), physical/occupational therapy, diagnostic laboratory, diagnostic imaging (X-ray, mammography, MRI, CT), an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and related support spaces.

The project design will foster cooperation among providers, which is intended to promote positive patient outcomes and increase operational efficiencies. The design supports an operational model that SAMC adopted after undertaking LEAN planning exercises in an effort to eliminate waste and improve clinical performance. For example, the larger floor plates of the facility will enable the primary care and full-time specialty physicians to practice on the same floor, reducing the number of employees to an optimal level, while the open plan of each care module will foster collaboration among staff and providers.

The front entry of the facility will feature an atrium area with central check-in. Primary care and specialty clinics will be the predominant uses on the first floor, with ambulatory surgery, imaging and lab services housed on the second floor.

The building design also incorporates features that will enable SAMC to roll out initiatives such as its EPIC electronic health records system, patient tracking capability within the facility, self-rooming and shortened wait times.

Dinosaurs once again roam the earth when the spectacular production, Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular, based on the award-winning BBC Television series, returns to North America this summer. Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular will perform at Canadian Tire Centre for a limited eight-performance engagement from Wednesday, Aug. 20, to Sunday, Aug. 24. The show that critics have called 'awesome', 'spectacular' and 'breathtaking' will commence a new tour in Cleveland from July 9-13. This updated production will showcase changes to the dinosaurs based on the latest scientific research including the likely feathering of some species. Worldwide, more than eight million people have seen this show in 243 cities and over 2,000 performances.

Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular is produced by Global Creatures headed by CEO Carmen Pavlovic. Pavlovic said, "I am thrilled that Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular is coming back to the US (and Canada) in July – its first visit to North America since its inaugural 2007 sold-out tour. A new generation is ready to experience these life-size beasts in this awe-inspiring spectacle, which has still not been matched in terms of scale and quality. Many of our creatures have 'evolved' since the last tour, now featuring distinctive display feathers, head crests and tail fans, reflecting recent discoveries about the physical nature of these massive creatures. The show depicts the dinosaurs' evolution with almost cinematic realism. Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular has scenes of the interactions between dinosaurs, how carnivorous dinosaurs evolved to walk on two legs, and how the herbivores fended off their more agile predators.

Ten species are represented from the entire 200 million year reign of the dinosaurs. The show includes the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the terror of the ancient terrain, as well as the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period, the Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period and Torosaurus and Utahraptor from the awesome Cretaceous period. The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall and 56 feet from nose to tail. It took a team of 50 – including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists, painters and animatronic experts – a year to build the production.

The history of the world is played out with the splitting of the earth's continents, and the transition from the arid desert of the Triassic period is given over to the lush green prairies and forces of the later Jurassic. Oceans form, volcanoes erupt, a forest catches fire – all leading to the impact of the massive comet, which struck the earth, and forced the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Director Scott Faris said "we take the audience on a journey back in time and show them how the dinosaurs might have actually looked in their prime – huge, sometimes frightening, sometimes comical monsters – that fought for survival every day of their lives. Our dinosaurs move exactly like they are real – with all the roars, snorts and excitement that go with it. The realism is mind-blowing."

The show originated in Australia, where after years of planning, Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular came to life at Sydney's Acer Arena in January 2007. The 20 dinosaurs were originally 'hatched' by Sonny Tilders, the head of creature design at Creature Technology Company, in a Melbourne Docklands workshop big enough to park a 747.

The show proved itself such a sensation, that the North American tour was fast-tracked, where it quickly became one of the leading arena attractions. The only building large enough to house rehearsals for the dinosaurs was the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center. Soon after this successful season, Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular went on to conquer Europe and Asia.

During its North American tour (2007-2010), the production won the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Touring Event and the Billboard Touring Award for Creative Content as well as the Pollstar Concert Industry Award for Most Creative Stage Production and the ILMC Arthur Award for Best in Show. The THEAs recognize excellence in the creation of compelling educational, historical and entertainment projects; and both the Billboard Touring Award and the Pollstar Concert Industry Award recognize a show or tour that creatively expands what is offered on the road. The ILMC (International Live Music Conference) Arthur Award for Best in Show recognizes theatre shows and family entertainment.

NexCore Group LLC, a nationally ranked healthcare real estate developer, has broken ground on a 67,000 square ambulatory care center for St. Alexius Medical Center (SAMC) in Minot, a North Dakota hub city near the booming Bakken Oil Formation that is experiencing extraordinary population growth. In 2014, the U.S. Census Bureau ranked Minot as the fifth fastest-growing micropolitan area in the nation.

Denver-based NexCore is developing the two-story Minot Medical Plaza in collaboration with St. Alexius Medical Center, a 306-bed, full-service, acute care medical center located in Bismarck, that serves the residents of central and western North Dakota, northern South Dakota and eastern Montana.

SAMC has a strong reputation in Minot and currently provides the market with outpatient services in a converted one-story office building. During its six years of operation, the SAMC clinic has experienced consistent growth in patient visits. The new Medical Plaza will replace the existing clinic.

Facility Programmed and Designed to Enhance Patient Outcomes

The Minot Medical Plaza has been designed as a multi-purpose ambulatory center that will foster an efficient and collaborative care model to increase staff, physician and patient satisfaction. The building space program includes primary care and specialty clinics (including orthopedics, gastroenterology and ophthalmology), physical/occupational therapy, diagnostic laboratory, diagnostic imaging (X-ray, mammography, MRI, CT), an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and related support spaces.

The project design will foster cooperation among providers, which is intended to promote positive patient outcomes and increase operational efficiencies. The design supports an operational model that SAMC adopted after undertaking LEAN planning exercises in an effort to eliminate waste and improve clinical performance. For example, the larger floor plates of the facility will enable the primary care and full-time specialty physicians to practice on the same floor, reducing the number of employees to an optimal level, while the open plan of each care module will foster collaboration among staff and providers.

The front entry of the facility will feature an atrium area with central check-in. Primary care and specialty clinics will be the predominant uses on the first floor, with ambulatory surgery, imaging and lab services housed on the second floor.

The building design also incorporates features that will enable SAMC to roll out initiatives such as its EPIC electronic health records system, patient tracking capability within the facility, self-rooming and shortened wait times.
